A new opportunity has arisen for a Self-Employed Business Advisor to deliver high quality start-up advice and assistance across Nottinghamshire.
The role will assess the needs of eligible start-up businesses and facilitate support and links to external specialist support. These activities will include handling enquiries from first viability checks through to the development of business plans and cash flow forecasts to the implementation of ongoing support and exit evaluation.
You will be responsible for helping to make a lasting difference to the lives of people throughout the North of England and beyond, by supporting individuals to gain meaningful employment.
Our highly skilled advisers and keyworkers work with a range of individuals; from people who have found themselves recently out of work to those with complex barriers such as physical disabilities, mental ill-health, and debt. The role is based in Mansfield with travel to Worksop and Newark required as and when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the programme and service delivery to produce maximum impact in assisting start-ups to reach their full potential, helping clients move from unemployment to self-employment.
* Handling enquiries via phone and email, initially assessing the potential of start-ups using appropriate tools, processes, and systems.
* Designing, organising, and delivering workshops such as enterprise coaching and business planning.
* Ensuring appropriate services for start-up clients are personally introduced.
* Actively monitoring the progress and survival of start-ups.
* Working with core Programme teams, start-up teams, and other internal teams to ensure clients have a seamless journey through the Group's Enterprise programmes.
* Collaborating with other delivery teams to bring in the necessary expertise to assist eligible start-up companies.
* Completing all administration in a timely manner against deadlines and ensuring accuracy.

* Excellent planning, organisational, and administrative skills.
* Well-developed IT skills, including understanding of computerised management information systems, spreadsheets, diary management, and email.
* Proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
* Up-to-date sector and market knowledge.
* Ability to identify opportunities and be innovative.
Skills Required:
* Understanding and experience of using project management techniques.
* Experience/knowledge of setting up a business or supporting others to do so.
* Able to provide business advice in a start-up setting.
* Ability to create and understand cash flow forecasts.
* Knowledge of the benefits system and various welfare-to-work programmes.
* Wide-ranging business experience in the private sector, particularly in a start-up business.
* Proven track record in managing a range of business issues.
* Experience of starting a business or working as a manager in a start-up team.
* Proven track record in working effectively in a professional team.
