Job Description
* We are looking for a driven person to lead the Health, Safety, Environment and Quality function.
* The role requires creative problem solving and risk management approaches.
* A key focus will be ensuring site HSE compliance, quality improvement and driving the sustainability program.
* Some support will be required to other UK E6 sites as required.
* Direct line management of the site SHEQ team.
* Accountable for undertaking highly autonomous, self-directed work whilst communicating with key stakeholders to ensure they are consulted and informed.
Duties and tasks
* Provide SHEQ leadership and guidance to all functions onsite.
* Be a role model for the Element Six values and provide visible felt leadership for SHEQ.
* Leadership and development of the local SHEQ Team.
* Ensure ongoing compliance to international standards (quality, health and safety, environment, energy).
* Lead the continuous improvement of the integrated management system.
* Contribute to group SHEQ forums and undertake group reporting and feedback as required.
* Ensure mandatory reporting is undertaken on time, in full and accurately.
* Proactively identify and act upon quality, safety and environmental risks and opportunities.
* Manage timely and thorough investigations relating to customer queries and safety and environmental incidents and near misses.
* Continually identify and implement improvements to existing SHEQ management systems and processes.
* Lead the site sustainability program ensuring effective management of energy, waste, water use, resources and developing the site environmental and energy management systems.
* Lead the identification and execution of SHEQ objectives and programs and report on progress.
* Identify industry trends, changes in legislation and of needs of interested parties and adapt site management systems to ensure compliance.
* Drive operational risk management processes and maturity.
Qualifications
* Technical expertise for example a manufacturing or engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
* Proven expertise in health, safety, environment, quality and sustainability.
* Internal lead audit qualification.
* Level 5/6 formal qualification in SHEQ e.g. NEBOSH or IEMA.
* Experience of working to ISO 9001, 45001, 14001, 50001 international standards.
* Problem-solver with a positive attitude.
* Ability to manage cross functional and internal / external stakeholders.
* An appreciation of Business Excellence tools and techniques.
* Capable of working in a challenging environment; having the ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously and prioritise effectively to meet the commercial and business needs.
* A can do, flexible, pro-active attitude and a passion for continuous improvement.
* Credible; ability to demonstrate understanding of engineering/operational processes / plant / systems.
