Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic MFL Teacher to join a secondary school in Totton, Southampton from September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to inspire students in learning French, Spanish, or another modern foreign language, encouraging both linguistic development and cultural appreciation.
About the Role
As an MFL Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and interactive lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students. The successful candidate will create a dynamic learning environment, helping students build confidence in their language skills and preparing them for GCSE examinations where applicable.
Key responsibilities include:
-Encouraging students to develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing
-Adapting teaching methods to support students with different learning needs and abilities
-Assessing and tracking student progress, providing constructive feedback
-Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active participation
-Supporting students in exam preparation and coursework
-Collaborating with colleagues to enhance language learning across the curriculum
The ideal candidate will:
-Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
-Have experience teaching MFL at secondary level (KS3 & KS4)
-Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and familiarity with the UK National Curriculum for MFL
-Have a passion for languages and cultural education, with the ability to inspire students
-Possess excellent classroom management and communication skills
-Hold a current enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
