Care Navigator
Job summary:
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
There is the possibility to take on more administrative responsibilites with document management, coding and secretarial work.
Job responsibilities:
* Ensuring patient queries are dealt with efficiently and effectively whether by online, phone or in person
* When covering the patients’ queries ensuring calls are answered promptly and in line with practice protocols
* Ensuring all requests for appointments both routine and emergency are signposted correctly – using practice training material and the nurse triage system
* To process and promote use of online services
* Operating the reception desk
* Promote relevant clinics and community services to patients
* Contacting patients pro-actively and as requested to invite them in for review and clinics
Qualifications
* At least one year experience as GP Medical receptionist
* Previous office and administrative experience
* Strong organizational and multitasking skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* Proficiency in using office software and equipment
* Ability to handle patient inquiries and manage appointments
* Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare procedures
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: Up to £11.40 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
