As a DES Deca Engineering Technician your roles include the repair and overhaul avionics, maritime, ground communications, navigation and weapons system as well as cable and test box manufacture, in a timely and efficient manner whilst complying with legislative and organisational standards. DE&S Deca is a specialist part of Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) tasked with supporting a vast range of Defence avionics, electronics and components to provide high-quality, cost-effective support to the UK Armed Forces. We have a rich heritage as the MODs in house repair, maintenance, overhaul and upgrade service provider by offering innovative solutions to guarantee best value for Defence. This role requires you to have lived in the UK for the last 5 years and obtain Security Check (SC) security clearance. Clearance must be obtained without any caveats that prevent you from carrying out the role youve been recruited for. If it isnt obtained or is obtained but with caveats that prevent you from carrying out the role, any conditional offer made to you will be withdrawn. Job description Role responsibilities include but are not limited to: Comply with all relevant policy and legislation. Hold self-certification responsibilities. Provide specialist advice and technical supervisory responsibilities. Perform self-directed test diagnostic and repair, maintenance, modification, calibration and manufacture using approved engineering documentation and techniques. Carry out unique tasks, including the creation of supporting engineering documentation. Work within a scheme of engineering governance provided by supervisors. Input and update of data and the maintenance of digital media to satisfy internal and external customers with regard to airworthiness and information requirements. Assist in coordinating the manufacture or repair of cable projects including documentation, drawings, tooling & testing of the finished article. Person specification We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, and well organised candidate who can manage numerous tasks/projects individually and as part of the wider team. The individual will be required to engage with various internal and external stakeholders/customers. To be successful with your application, you'll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria: Holds relevant: Level 4 qualification and advanced/higher apprenticeship; or Level 3 qualification, a nationally recognised engineering apprenticeship and some engineering experience within their discipline or specialist area.
