Job Title Biomedical Scientist/Trainee Job Description The Histology laboratory at Coventry Warwickshire Pathology Service (CWPS) is seeking a qualified and experienced state registered BMS/Trainee to join our team at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire. Applicants must be HCPC registered or have an accredited degree and be prepared to work towards the IBMS registration portfolio. Experience in a busy Histology department is desirable. Responsibilities Support the provision of a full histopathology diagnostic service, including BMS cut-up, embedding, microtomy, H&E staining, special stains, and immunohistochemistry. Demonstrate commitment to quality and standards improvement. Participate in a full rotation system through all laboratory sections. Training and encouragement for CPD and personal development are provided. The laboratory operates from 7am to 7pm, Monday-Saturday, with potential 24/7 service requirements. Trainee Position The trainee position is available only to candidates with an IBMS accredited degree, and completion of the registration portfolio is expected within a year. Interpret diagnostic investigations and manage technical/analytical non-conformities. Ensure accurate data entry onto laboratory computer systems and maintain necessary internal records.
