ENT are looking to recruit a Specialty Doctor based in the ENT department for a fixed term period of 2 years. This is designed to support the Facial Plastic Skin Cancer Service, with a view to be working in the future independently under indirect supervision from the Consultant body. Applicants must be fully registered with the General Medical Council and hold a licence to practise.
The successful candidate will join a team of 7 Consultants and 2 Specialist Trainees, 1 Specialty Doctor, 1 GP Trainee and 1 Foundation Year Doctor. The junior staff are all on rotation from Health Education England - North West.
The appointee will be responsible to the Clinical Lead for ENT and accountable to the Associate Medical Director for Surgery and Cancer.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be based at Leighton Hospital, Crewe in the ENT Department, Surgery and Cancer Division. Outpatient activity will also be provided at Victoria Infirmary Northwich.
The middle grade rota is shared with Royal Stoke Hospital (University Hospital of North Midlands, UHNM) both during the week and at a weekend.
The post is offered on a full time, or job share basis, the job plan being intended for a full-time appointment with an opportunity to modify this if the post is offered on any other basis.

The post is offered initially at 10 PAs to be worked flexibly, incorporating clinics and theatre sessions.
The post comprises 9 Direct Clinical Care including 1 PA on-call, and 1 SPA for audit, teaching and research.
The post holder will participate in the middle grade on-call rota (1 in 8) which provides cross cover with the University Hospital of North Midlands, covering the Royal Stoke Hospital and Stafford. The current arrangements are that at the weekend, all acute admissions are admitted to the Royal Stoke Hospital. The post holder will be expected to live within reasonable distance from the hospital to allow easy access to both on call sites.
The post holder will liaise with medical colleagues, nursing staff and other professionals.
The post holder will be expected to cover colleagues during periods of leave/sickness, work flexibly to achieve high quality care and ensure that optimal use is made of all resources allocated to the post.
