Job Title : Locum Acute Inpatient Physiotherapist Banding : Band 6 Location : Royal London Hospital (RLH) Working Hours : Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, across 7 days Start Date : ASAP Duration : Ongoing Rate : Competitive, dependent on experience Opening Paragraph : An experienced Band 6 Acute Inpatient Physiotherapist is urgently required to join the team at the Royal London Hospital. This is a full-time locum position working 37.5 hours per week across 7 days. The role involves providing physiotherapy care for acute adult inpatients, with a focus on complex discharge planning, acute rehabilitation for patients with chronic diseases, and the management of neuro and respiratory conditions. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in acute adult inpatient settings and be skilled in managing acutely deteriorating patients. Responsibilities : The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of acute adult inpatient cases, including those with complex discharge needs. You will provide physiotherapy for patients with chronic conditions, acute rehabilitation needs, and neuro-related conditions. A key aspect of the role will be managing acutely deteriorating patients, including the use of cough assist devices and tracheostomy management. You will be expected to conduct neuro assessments, provide treatment plans, and support respiratory management including acute Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV). You will also need to work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the smooth and timely discharge of patients and develop effective rehabilitation strategies tailored to individual needs. The role demands high-level clinical reasoning, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously within a fast-paced hospital environment. Qualifications and Experience : Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent HCPC registered Physiotherapist Significant acute inpatient physiotherapy experience, particularly in adult settings Strong background in complex discharge planning Experience in the rehabilitation of patients with chronic diseases Proficient in neuro assessment and treatment Experience in managing acutely deteriorating respiratory patients, including the use of cough assist and tracheostomy management Knowledge of acute Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV) and its management Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment Why work with Pulse?
