Year 7 Transition Teacher – SEND Secondary School (Basingstoke)
A small SEND secondary school in Basingstoke is looking for a dedicated Year 7 Transition Teacher to support pupils who face challenges transitioning from mainstream or SEND primary schools into secondary education. The role is initially temporary through Teaching Personnel, with the potential to move to a permanent school contract if both parties agree.

Responsibilities:
* Provide targeted support through 1:1 and small group sessions for Year 7 pupils transitioning into secondary school
* Assist students in their regular classes, offering guidance to help them engage and succeed
* Deliver re-teaching sessions to reinforce classroom learning and facilitate reintegration back into their classroom settings
* Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to develop tailored strategies for each pupil
* Occasionally conduct external visits to pupils’ homes or other school settings to provide additional support
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (essential)
* Experience working in primary or secondary schools, or with pupils with additional needs
* Knowledge and understanding of SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs and associated behaviours
* A compassionate, flexible approach with a strong commitment to pupil development
