We're looking for a Finance Project Lead to join our Finance team based at Westwood or Trinity on a 12-month secondment basis. This role is paying from £69,990 - £79,595 along with a market leading benefits package.

Here's what you'll be doing
We have an exciting 12-month fixed-term opportunity to play a key role in launching a brand-new project. This is a great chance to make a real impact, working on an innovative initiative from the ground up! You will support all finance activities related to Batteries and the setup of Independent Distribution Network Operators (IDNO) and Independent Connection Providers (ICP) - both crucial to achieving our group targets. You'll be responsible for developing investment cases, driving business planning, monitoring performance, and ensuring strong governance and controls. Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the development of business cases and scenarios for Independent Distribution Network Operator (IDNO) / Independent Connection Provider (ICP) bids using your financial and commercial acumen to drive decision making.
2. Drive the delivery of any new Battery business cases against milestones/KPIs working closely with the Mergers & Acquisition team.
3. Support ongoing financial management and delivery of E.ON business case KPIs in accordance with contractual requirements.
4. Conduct financial analyses to aid decision-making, including cost-benefit analysis, ROI calculations, and financial modelling.
5. Implement cost control measures to ensure projects stay within budget, identifying and addressing any financial risks and developing risk mitigation strategies.
6. Support in establishing a project reporting and KPI tracking framework which effectively captures and escalates corrective actions to risks and issues.
7. Liaise between the finance departments and other departments to provide financial guidance and support, such as Tax, Accounting & Treasury and Operational teams.
What we need from you
1. Strong commercial acumen with a proven ability to identify key issues, create clarity and insight and provide effective support and challenge to stakeholders.
2. Provide financial support, including business case modelling, budget tracking, and funding support.
3. Experience of implementing and managing core financial processes to appropriate level of rigour.
4. Exceptional relationship building and communication skills with the ability to influence and work effectively across external and internal stakeholders.
5. An innovative approach, driving imaginative solutions to problems and capable of challenging conventional business thinking.
6. Energy, drive, determination and enthusiasm and an ability to work to tight deadlines.
7. Membership of a professional accounting institute (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with PQE.
8. Be flexible to travel as needed.
