To undertake a variety of tasks contributing to the safety and appearance of the environment within and around Sandwell MBC Estates, particularly in high and low-rise blocks of flats. (Rostered weekend and bank holidays are required).
Duties will include routine and periodic cleaning of areas within and around the block, litter picking, removal of bulky items and hazardous waste (e.g., sharps) from communal areas, and fire safety inspections.
Safety and environmental inspections, reporting of communal repairs, performing minor handy person style repairs, removal of graffiti within and around the block, and cleansing of bin rooms/areas and receptacles are also part of the duties.
You will be expected to demonstrate the ability to:
* Work anywhere within the Borough of Sandwell.
* Undertake duties with regards to safe methods of work, including knowledge of Health and Safety and COSHH Regulations.
* Work as part of a team or independently as required.
* Adapt to changing priorities and uncertainty.
* Drive a Company Vehicle safely.
The post holder must possess:
* Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
* Current Full Driving Licence (must have been driving own vehicle for 12 months).
* Previous caretaking experience, including carrying out minor repairs and Fire Safety checks.
Hours: 37 Hours (Contracted weekends and bank holidays are also required)
