We are looking for an experienced, solution-led, and detail-oriented Technical Designer to join our growing team. Reporting to the Head of Production, as a Technical Designer you will bridge the gap between creative design and fabrication, working to bring innovative designs to life by applying practical manufacturing knowledge. You will work across multiple design projects of varying size and complexity alongside a team of Production Managers to clearly detail the correct technical solutions and fabrication methodologies. Drawings will be used to communicate directly to the Workshop and external fabrication suppliers. Work will also include creating clear site and survey packs to document installs, de-rigs, and site surveys. The role will require working across jobs simultaneously ensuring that jobs are executed to company and client standards in a compliant and industry-leading way.
Key Responsibilities:

2. Creating articulate and accurate technical fabrication drawings for the Workshop and third-party fabrication partners.
3. Protecting brand and company integrity by upholding construction standards, meeting and supporting our defined ways of working/manufacture.
4. Driving for continual improvement and innovation. This role best suits upbeat and self-motivated individuals who enjoy working systematically and productively. It is a fast-paced and energized environment which relies on organization and efficiency.
Requirements:
1. Experience: 3+ years of Technical Design experience, with a strong track record of supporting fabrication teams from design through to final build.
2. Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, including cabinetry, timber construction, and metalwork, with a focus on balancing aesthetic goals with technical feasibility.
3. Proficient in 3D modelling software (Vectorworks, SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and advanced skills in 2D technical drawing and drafting with a solid understanding of manufacturing standards.
4. Demonstrated experience in design for manufacturing, with an ability to consider cost-efficiency, weight, and production complexity during the design process.
5. Exceptional problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset, the ability to work under pressure, and a methodical approach to challenges.
6. Unparalleled attention to detail and accuracy in both design and fabrication, ensuring high-quality execution of complex projects.
7. Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising with internal teams (technical, production, creative) and external stakeholders, and translating technical requirements across disciplines.
8. Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize workload efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
9. Confident IT skills with cloud-based platforms (Google Suite) to streamline processes.
10. Awareness of relevant Health & Safety legislation and its impact on project planning and execution.
11. Strong ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, with a flexible, ‘can-do’ attitude and willingness to take on various tasks as needed.
12. Articulate and comfortable in client-facing roles, with a professional and reliable demeanor.
13. A full driving license is required for this position.
