Key Responsibilities
As a Tim Hortons Restaurant Shift/Floor Manager, you will support the Restaurant Manager with responsibilities for:
Customer Service
* Lead by example, treating customers as top priority.
* Be customer-focused in all areas of restaurant operations.
* Accurate staff scheduling that meets customer demand.
* Support the team to maintain operational efficiency.
* Conduct regular store walks from the customer's perspective.
People
* Encourage staff to share suggestions and concerns.
* Provide feedback to all team members on performance, set goals, and provide support and guidance.
* Create a positive teamwork environment ensuring all employees are treated with dignity and respect and free from discrimination.
* Performance management when necessary, working with the HR Department.
Driving Sales
* Understand sales, popular products, and peak trade times, adjusting accordingly.
* Ensure all products are correctly merchandised and at sufficient levels, aligning with marketing campaigns.
* Coach employees to upsell and suggest to customers.
* Evaluate where the restaurant could improve, based on employee input for continuous improvement.
Operations
* Manage Key Performance Indicators, such as sales, employee turnover, and food safety/health & safety standards.
* Set an example for your team by maintaining composure under pressure.
* Manage weekly stock orders and ensure quality checks on incoming orders.
* Maintain a schedule for preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment.
* Ensure optimal inventory levels.
* Oversee opening and closing procedures.
* Maintain operational standards/cleanliness within the restaurant, including food quality, hygiene standards, customer experience, speed of service, and hospitality.
* Implement health and safety programs focusing on accurate reporting of incidents to the Regional Manager.
* Be available to work a variety of shifts as part of the management team.
Key Requisites
* Previous experience of running restaurants.
* A flexible and disciplined approach to work.
* Experience in a food environment is advantageous but not essential.
* Able to work as part of a team and independently.
* Have a reasonable standard of numeracy and literacy.
* Maintain a high level of food hygiene and safety.
* Experience in handling customer complaints.
* Ensure positive health and safety procedures are followed.
