We are seeking to appoint a Special Projects Analyst to join our team and make a positive impact in a growing and progressive CRO. This role is based in at our Manchester site, with business travel as required. The Special Projects Analyst is part of the Laboratory Services Team. They ensure the appropriate development, validation and use of various analytical methods using ELISA/PCR. Daily tasks may involve maintenance of equipment, calibration, processing samples and sample analysis on instruments. This role has a part in quality control within the laboratory processes and supports the reporting of data from the studies. Routine sample processing with different techniques Analysis of samples by PCR/ELISA Interpreting and data processing. Preliminary assessment of data quality. Identifying deviations and performing investigation under supervision of laboratory management Performs (peer) data review for quality control. Identifies and reports irregularities identified with any aspects of work. Economically utilizes materials in operation of daily tasks. Ensures on-time task completion to support the overall goal of on-time study completion. Assists in the organisation and housekeeping of the laboratory. In study planning and workload optimisation, in conjunction with Laboratory Supervisor Education: Batchelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or similar or four (4) years Laboratory Education Essential Experience: Knowledgeable of laboratory processes Understanding of basic processes in analytical sample analysis Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment (GxP) handling (biological) samples preferred. Has a thorough understanding and complies with GxP and other appropriate regulations. Understanding of the scientific principles behind analysis methods utilised. Desirable Experience: Experience creating, editing and maintaining SOPs Demonstrated experience in stock control and inventory management. Experience in designing experiments.
