We have an opportunity for a caring individual to join us as a Nursery Apprentice. This role is ideal for someone starting in the early years sector while pursuing a full Level 3 qualification in Childcare. Earn while you learn! This is a full-time position 35-40 hours Monday to Friday. Hourly rate of £7.55 and an extensive benefits package.

What you’ll do at work
The key responsibilities for a Nursery Apprentice is to:
* Support Early Years Educators: Assist qualified staff in delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate activities for children
* Child Supervision: Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, providing attentive supervision during play and learning activities
* Learning Activities: Help plan and implement educational activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development
* Observation and Record Keeping: Observe children’s progress and assist in maintaining accurate records of their development and learning milestones
* Maintain a Clean Environment: Help keep the nursery clean and organised, including tidying play areas, sanitising toys, and preparing materials for activities
* Support Personal Care: Assist with personal care routines, including feeding, changing, and toilet training as needed
* Engage with Parents and Caregivers: Build positive relationships with children and their families, communicating effectively about their child’s progress and activities
* Participate in Training: Attend training sessions and workshops to further develop skills and knowledge in early childhood education
* Follow Policies and Procedures: Adhere to nursery policies, health and safety regulations, and safeguarding practices to ensure a safe learning environment
* Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the nursery team, contributing to a positive and supportive work environment

* Recognise when a child or a colleague is in danger or at risk of abuse and act to protect them in line with safeguarding policy and procedure.
* Apply legislation, policy and procedure to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of children in the setting (for example, food safety, diets, starting solid food, allergies, COSHH, and accidents, injuries, and emergencies).
* Apply the principles of risk assessment and risk management within documentation and practice.
* Teach children to develop skills to manage risk and maintain their own and others safety.
* Use a range of communication methods, including technology, with other professionals to meet the individual needs of the child.
