About the Opportunity: We are looking to recruit and develop career minded people to bolster our well-established and growing multi-discipline engineering delivery capability to meet opportunities in the defence industry. As the demand for our services continues to grow, you will provide the C&I and Electrical designers/engineers team support to key client projects. Being part of a several hundred strong team across the UK, however you will work within the smaller and growing team based in Glasgow, Bristol or Reading. You will preferably have experience of working in defence or a similar industry, but also those with relevant C&I design experience looking to work in a technically challenging environment are encouraged to apply. - Working with a team of C&I and Electrical designers/engineers in developing engineering deliverables throughout various stages of the project. - Information gathering, undertaking desktop studies. - Carrying out visual and intrusive inspections analysing data and reporting. - Prepare plans, functional and technical specifications, contract documents, estimates and test and commissioning plans. - Performs calculations and evaluations in the design of equipment and systems for industrial and commercial applications. - Interfaces and co-ordinates with associated disciplines including; Safety Case and System, Requirements teams. - Maintains effective communication with project team members and with the project delivery team. - Responsible for the authoring/reviewing/checking on technical documentation. Here's What You'll Need: - Possess in depth knowledge of the Telecomms and related comms systems. - Experience in schemes including SCADA Networks, IT Networks, Security - Knowledge of associated electrical, and C&I systems. - Demonstrated record of maintaining own skills and knowledge at the forefront of the field. - Experience in a contracting environment, relevant site experience. - Must be a sole UK national as the work you'll be doing is classified as 'UK Eyes Only' - Willing to travel if/when required. The following areas are desirable but not essential. - Experience of control & protection systems - Design Experience of sensors, relays, MCCs, circuit breakers and general control panel architecture. - Experience of working on nuclear related systems preferred but not essential. - Experience of working to Safety Case requirements preferred but not essential. - Professionally qualified (e.g. Incorporated/Chartered) Engineer with a degree/HNC.
