Community and wellbeing network are able to offer an exciting opportunity for someone to join the Adult Community Speech and Language Therapy Service in Central Lancashire as a Band 4 Speech and Language Therapy Assistant.
The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out Speech and Language Therapy programmes and packages of care with clients working independently or in conjunction with members of the Speech and Language Therapy team. You will monitor client’s progress, and modify interventions accordingly, within agreed parameters, explaining therapy activities to patients, family members, carers and other health professionals involved in the patient’s care. There will also be the opportunity to assist in the delivery of training to others, creating communication resources such as Life Story Work, supporting the use of communication aids (high and low tech) and using telemedicine to support the therapists deliver more timely assessment. You will work in a variety of settings; including peoples own homes and care settings. This caseload is adults with acquired progressive neurological disorders who present with communication and swallowing impairments.
