An exceptionally well-funded privately owned property investment and development company is looking to appoint a head of land acquisition for its care and retirement division.
You will be a dynamic and deal-focused land and development executive who is ideally working for a leading care home or retirement property developer
Since its inception 10 + years ago the business has operated across multiple asset classes but the care home division is expanding rapidly.
They are a real estate investment fund with a track record of securing and buying sites across the UK and achieving significant planning gains. They already have several high-profile sites under the agreement and have recently signed a long-term agreement to supply a national care home developer with land.
You will report directly to the managing director and be tasked with sourcing opportunities. You will be a very ambitious, money-motivated land buyer who is a deal junky. You will love sourcing off-market sites where a large profit can be made and be exceptional at beating the competition to the deals.
The business is a very dynamic and entrepreneurial one and as such you will be given a high level of autonomy to grow and develop the business unit as you see fit. This is a real opportunity to grow and develop your career to the managing director level at a fast pace.
Critically and firstly you will be a born deal maker and have a track record of doing 3-4 land deals a year.
Responsibilities
* Sourcing off-market land for purchase in the care and retirement home space
* Keeping contact with care home operators and developers
* Liaising and negotiating with landowners and agents of potential purchases
* Overseeing legal, planning and design consultants pre and post-acquisition
* Keeping up to date with town planning policy and specifically in key areas you are targeting for letter writing
Key Requirements
* Degree-qualified and ideally property-related
* Natural born deal maker doing 3-4 land deals a year consistently.
* Experienced Land executive who has a demonstratable deal sheet in the care and retirement space
* Currently working for either a care home developer or high profile investor or agency.
* Detailed understanding of the planning application and appeals process.
* A strong network of contacts in the land agency world.
* Determined, hungry and ambitious.
* Ability to work autonomously and independently from the rest of the team.
