Job Role: Quality Inspector

Salary: £34-£35k per annum + bonus
Note: Training will be undertaken on a day shift.

Job Role:
The Quality Inspector carries out inspection activities within a factory environment, ensuring that parts are machined in line with customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Carry out first off inspections, ensuring that the part is machined to correct standard before manufacturing continues.
2. Maintain OPC and sample inspections to ensure that parts are complying to method specifications.
3. Complete receipt inspection where required (validation of parts returning from subcontract locations).
4. Complete conventional and CMM inspection work as an independent over check for parts.
5. Understand engineering drawings for the purpose of inspection.
6. Complete visual inspection of parts during the inspection process.
7. Generation of non-conformance paperwork as applicable.
8. Undertake Airflow Inspection tasks as required.
9. Consistently achieving all area targets as determined by the Cell Manager.
10. Adherence to all company policies and procedures, including SOX, Code of Conduct, and Health and Safety.
Skills Requirement:
The ideal candidate should have:
1. A sound understanding of inspection techniques (on a variety of products) and proven engineering experience.
2. Experience of inspecting to tight tolerances in a precision engineering environment.
3. Experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing company, with demanding targets.
4. A solid understanding of engineering drawings and method specifications.
5. A reasonable degree of computer literacy, with basic Excel experience.
6. An understanding or ability to use SAP would be advantageous.
7. Ability to use conventional inspection equipment.
8. Ability to use CMM machines.
9. Ability to work on their own initiative but also have good interpersonal and team working skills.
10. Excellent attention to detail and pride in work.
11. Ability to be flexible to support the ongoing needs of the business.
