Role Overview: As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and well-being of our pupils with SEND. You will work closely with teachers and other staff in a dedicated space to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for a small group of high-need children, led by an experienced HLTA and overseen by the SENDCo. Your responsibilities will include providing intimate care, supporting educational activities, and assisting with various tasks as they arise. Key Responsibilities: Support the personal, social, and emotional development of pupils with SEND. Provide intimate care, alongside another member of staff, in a respectful and dignified manner, ensuring the comfort and safety of pupils. Assist with the resourcing and delivery of tailored educational activities to meet individual learning needs. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and engagement. Collaborate with relevant staff and other professionals to monitor and assess pupil progress. Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and communicate effectively with parents and caregivers. Assist with the management of behaviour in line with the school’s policies and procedures. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge. Qualifications and Skills: Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is essential. Experience working with children with SEND is highly desirable. Experience of using a communication-friendly approach and/or a Total Communication system is desirable Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A compassionate and patient approach to working with children. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
