Job Summary: Our client is seeking a talented and creative Pastry/Dessert Chef to join their team and elevate their dessert offerings. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking, a keen eye for presentation, and the ability to craft high-quality pastries, cakes, and desserts. You will be responsible for designing, preparing, and executing a variety of sweet treats that delight our customers while maintaining consistency, quality, and efficiency in our kitchen. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and present high-quality pastries, desserts, cakes, and confections. Develop new dessert recipes and seasonal menu items. Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and appearance of all baked goods. Manage ingredient inventory and place orders as needed. Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness in the pastry section. Collaborate with the head chef and other kitchen staff to ensure seamless kitchen operations. Stay updated on industry trends and bring innovative ideas to the menu. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in pastry techniques. Requirements: Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Dessert Chef, or similar role. A culinary degree or relevant certification in pastry arts is preferred. Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and flavour pairings. Creativity and artistic ability in dessert presentation. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality. Strong attention to detail and time management skills. Familiarity with food safety regulations and kitchen best practices.
