Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our front door team through a one-year Social Worker secondment due to maternity leave. Through relationship-based practice, we work together to ensure that children and their families get the “right service, first time, with no delay.” Whether this is by way of family support, early help, or social care intervention, you will play a pivotal role in applying your skills and knowledge to contribute to the best outcomes for our children and families.
In March 2020, we formed the Children’s Initial Advice Team to strengthen Darlington’s Children’s Front Door Service incorporating Professor David Thorpe's model, and this has gone from strength to strength. As a Social Worker in CIAT, you will work at the heart of a wider multi-agency front door, working alongside early help, police, health, education, and other vital partners all working together to help keep children safe.
This role is non-case holding and deals with incoming contacts from both professionals and the public, requiring a swift, dynamic thinker. Relational practice is a natural part of every aspect of practice and leadership, and you will join a strong and committed team that works within an environment that provides the conditions for success that you will benefit from personally and that will help our children in Darlington thrive!
If you have excellent communication skills, work positively and proactively with families and partner agencies, and are an experienced children and families Social Worker, then this is an opportunity not to be missed. This role does require a minimum of 3 years post-qualifying experience.
NB: This post is not subject to a retention payment and may impact your current retention payment.
