JDRoss are working with a leading provider of groundworks and civil engineering services who have just won work on one of the biggest construction projects in Europe. They are seeking a SHEQ Manager to join our team and oversee our Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) management systems. The SHEQ Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining SHEQ policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. This role involves conducting audits, risk assessments, and surveys to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the organisation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health, safety, environmental management, and quality assurance within the construction, cables, civils or power utilities. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain SHEQ policies, procedures, and management systems in line with industry standards and legal requirements. Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance with SHEQ policies and identify areas for improvement. Lead risk assessments and safety surveys to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures. Provide training and support to employees on SHEQ policies, procedures, and best practices. Monitor and report on SHEQ performance metrics, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to targets. Collaborate with project managers and site teams to ensure SHEQ considerations are integrated into project planning and execution. Investigate incidents and accidents, preparing reports and recommendations to prevent recurrence. Foster a positive safety culture within the organization, promoting awareness and engagement among all employees. Liaise with external regulatory bodies, clients, and stakeholders regarding SHEQ matters. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in health and safety management. Proven experience in a SHEQ management role, preferably within the construction, civils or power utilities. Strong knowledge of health, safety, environmental legislation, and quality management systems.
