Our client is a leading international company based in Bordon who are looking for a dynamic Accounts Assistant to join their busy finance team to help support the needs of the business. This position is ideal for an individual with experience in a similar role who is looking for a new challenge and to enhance their expertise in accounts and finance.
Accounts Assistant – About the role
Reporting to the Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for providing accounting support to the Finance team for financial and administrative tasks. Your key responsibilities will be:
* Managing the Purchase Order system, including assigning numbers to authorised POs and maintaining accurate records.
* Processing purchase invoices by matching them with POs where applicable, coding, obtaining approval, and entering them into Sage50.
* Handling and inputting employee expense claims.
* Preparing and processing BACS payments
* Reconciling the petty cash and credit cards
* Performing daily bank reconciliation
* Supporting various reconciliation tasks.
* Assisting in the collection of information for the annual audit.
* Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
The successful Accounts Assistant will have:
* A positive proactive approach, able to work on own initiative
* Previous experience in a similar role
* Relevant accounting or finance qualifications would be an advantage.
* Highly organised and methodical
* Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail
* Flexible approach
* Experience of Sage50
* Proficient in Excel
