The core task of this role is to register Births, Deaths, Marriages, Civil Partnerships. You will be required carry out all related duties and responsibilities in compliance with the Registration Acts.
Register and conduct Marriages, Civil Partnerships at registration offices and Approved Premises across Torbay.
You will be required to cover ceremonies during the week, weekends and bank holidays, on a rota basis. Births and Death registrations will take place at Torbay Register Office, Paignton.
You must have a confident approach and will be able to conduct yourself in a professional manner (both in attitude and appearance) at all times.
The successful applicant will need to show maximum reliability and enjoy working as a member of a committed team. You must have good time management skill and be able to travel around Torbay.
This post will be covering holiday and sickness as well as any peaks in service demand.
This post meets the requirements of the Public Services Network (PSN) and therefore will require a Basic Criminal Record Check. This will show any unspent convictions and conditional cautions.

Essential:
* Ability to work as part of a team.

* Ability to deal with distressed/bereaved/emotional people.
* Ability to handle confidential information sensitively.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
Knowledge
Essential:
* Knowledge and practical experience of Microsoft including Teams, Excel, Word and Outlook.
* Knowledge of handling confidential information and applying Data Protection.
* A good standard of written English.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
* Experience in working as part of a team.
* Public speaking.
* Good time keeping.
* Record keeping and inputting data with attention to detail.
