Job summary We are looking to recruit a Senior Medical Engineering Technician within our busy Medical electronics department to help us develop and extend the range of services we currently provide. With your Electronic engineering & manufacturers specialised courses or equivalent work experience, you will ideally have some prior experience of working in a hospital medical engineering, maintenance environment. The successful candidates will be required to work across our main sites i.e. Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Hospitals and at other specialist sites such the Boston House and the Thomas Linacre Centre in Wigan. This is a fulltime post working 37.5 hours per week. Main duties of the job Your duties will include working with and supporting the Team Leader in providing a cost efficient repair and maintenance service on medical equipment within the Trust. The post holder will be responsible for all remedial repairs, Planned Preventative Maintenance, and calibration of a wide range of medical devices. This will include Anesthesia Machines, Ultrasounds, ventilators, patient monitors, etc In addition the acceptance testing and configuration of newly delivered medical devices. The position will be part of the department's monthly rotating rota, wherein he or she will participate in daily rounds to attend to reported malfunctions and troubleshoot various types of medical equipment, ranging from complex to basic models. The post holder will possess extensive medical equipment training and electronic engineering background, capable of managing their own workload and planning their work independently.
