We are working closely alongside a LocalAuthority in Enfield to assist withthe appointment of a HousingCoordinator on a 3monthcontract highly likely to be extended at clientsdiscretion. Please apply with your CV for immediateconsideration.
Rate ofPay: 22.55 27.91 per Hour
Responsibilities:
* Effectively work with an array of preventiontools e.g Homefinders Scheme Discretionary Hardship Payments andcourt representation to prevent homelessness wherever possible orto facilitate a move into suitable affordableaccommodation.
* Accurately and robustly processhousing and homelessness approaches within agreed timescalesadhering to relevant policies procedures legislation case law andguidance.
* Arrange and undertake home visitswhere appropriate to confirm homelessness to inspect housingstandards / conditions or to verify a households circumstances
* Liaise with the Market Management Team tosecure accommodation where a housing duty is owed. To recommendaccess for households to the councils rent deposit scheme(Homefinders). Ensure the prompt cancellation of temporaryaccommodation when there is no longer aduty.
* Competently interpret and explain clearlycomplex legal matters to tenants landlords and other interestedparties. To have a detailed understanding of security of tenureincluding tenancy agreements defending possession proceedingsharassment illegal eviction disrepair issues and tenancysustainment
Qualifications:
* As a regular and intrinsic part of this role requires youto speak to members of the public in English the ability toconverse at ease with customers and provide advice in accuratespoken English is essential and consistent with the requirements ofthis role. This role also requires you to be polite and courteouswhen conversing with the public.
* Experience ofeffectively preventing homelessness
* Experience of carrying out robust enquiries and competentlydeciding homelessness applications in accordance with Part VIIHousing Act 1996 asamended
