I'm looking for an experienced (Locum) Healthcare Assistant for Maternity Cover for a GP Practice in Birmingham B8.
ABOUT THE PRACTICE
The practice offers a HCA Triage clinic: A brief description of what is involved in clinic patients who book into this clinic are seen by HCA initially. The HCA will complete patient health checks required for Qof. e.g., if a diabetic patient who hardly comes in has attended an appointment to see the GP. We view this as an ideal opportunity to pick up on other health checks. So the HCA completes basic health checks as well as taking a summary of what patients come in for, then the GP on call will go through the summary with the patient as well as any other necessary examinations. The HCA will clearly document examination and outcome of visits on the patient's record. We have observed with the help of the HCA how effective this is by freeing up time for the GP and increasing the number of appointments available on the day.
