The Role:
As a Senior Content Writer you will ensure consistent messaging, source impactful stories from across TCS and its (UK/global) customers and create strategic thought leadership assets which help build TCS’ reputation as a leader on innovation, sustainability and growth and transformation in the region.
Thought leadership assets and content (including articles, studies, video content etc) will be leveraged in client communications, media relations, social media, tcs.com/uk as well as in owned- and partner events across UK and Ireland. The role supports the Head of Brand Engagement, Content and Creative in developing strategies, plans and execution of thought leadership assets and content driving the TCS Brand in UK.
As part of our Communications and Marketing team, you’ll work closely with communications, branding, and marketing teams in the UK to explain what TCS does, its USPs and ways of working. This is about explaining things. Sometimes to the general public, sometimes to employees, external stakeholders, and even politicians. You’ll be asked to write and edit a wide variety of things, such as blog posts, posters, presentations, film scripts or storyboards, speeches, op-eds, and strategy papers.
This is a varied, interesting and fulfilling role, working as part of a multidisciplinary team of PR/communications professionals, marketers, branding and social media experts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Drive and own TCS’ UK corporate messaging framework in an organized, structured and accessible way.
• Ensure assets (blogs, videos, speeches etc) are in alignment with TCS UK messaging and the TCS brand.
• Actively source relevant Thought Leadership topics/content that supports TCS UK messaging/storytelling and make suitable for the regional comms teams to use towards their key audiences (business and IT) via blogs, videos, Speeches etc.
• Create powerful thought leadership and corporate storytelling assets (including articles, video etc).
• In collaboration with TCS and agency teams, develop strategies and plans for thought leadership campaigns that help build TCS’ reputation as innovative and sustainable growth & transformation partner.
• Leverage TCS owned, partnership and sponsorship events (e.g. Formula E races and TCS London marathon) to display thought leadership and engage with our audiences on key topics.
• Identify new events and platforms with relevant stakeholder audiences and facilitate TCS thought leadership presence through speaking opportunities and related engagements.
• Maintain good relationships and a contact network with key internal/external stakeholders to ensure all project communications activity is delivered.
• Assist with project managing other marketing projects – such as helping with marketing award submissions, production of surveys, branding and event display material, as well as business as usual communications.
Your Profile:
Key skills/knowledge/experience:
• Experience in delivering simple, clear copy in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to understand technology and articulate the narrative in a simple and compelling way.
• Ability to engage with stakeholders whilst prioritizing the competing demands of the business.
• Design skills will be a great plus point.
• Demonstrable knowledge of how the internet works.
• Strong influencing and negotiation skills and proven experience of dealing with senior stakeholders to deliver results.
• Demonstrable experience in writing and storytelling.
• Experience of contributing to creative campaigns, presentations, digital, print and video.
• Proven ability to quickly comprehend information about new topics, and produce new written content based on that information.
• A strong team player, flexible and results oriented, who thrives under pressure and brings a positive attitude to all aspects of their work.
• Developing and implementing communications plans and working on communications projects and working with internal/external designers and agencies.
• Ability to organize own work effectively and priorities competing workloads.
• Good IT skills, including experience of using content management systems (CMS), Microsoft Office (particularly Word and PowerPoint).
• Strategic and creative mindset, the ability to translate strategy and data in compelling, concrete messaging, in alignment with the TCS brand.
• Excellent writing skills and experience with creating thought leadership content, corporate storytelling, messaging and content creation (including articles, studies, video).
• A broad understanding of global technological developments and their potential implications on business, society and sustainability.
• Flexible team player who likes to work together with a wide range (international) TCS stakeholders (ranging from business to CSR/sustainability and marketing/communication) to agency teams.
• Professional experience in strategic writing, journalism, or media relations.
• Proven ability to work in a complex, international multi-stakeholder and multi-cultural environment.
• Well organized with great interpersonal communication and time management skills.
• Experience in professional services / B2B is preferred but not necessary. Any experience in the IT sector is a plus.
