Job Title: Commercial Manager
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager with strong knowledge of NEC (New Engineering Contract) frameworks and a proven track record in managing monthly revenue forecasts. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the commercial management of contracts, ensuring profitability, compliance, and efficiency across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the administration of NEC contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual terms, timely submissions, and effective communication with all stakeholders.
2. Develop, monitor, and manage monthly revenue forecasts, ensuring accuracy in revenue projections and identification of potential risks or opportunities.
3. Identify and mitigate risks associated with NEC contracts, ensuring cost-effective solutions and minimizing financial exposure.
4. Work closely with project teams to develop and maintain accurate cost controls, budgetary management, and profitability analysis throughout the project lifecycle.
5. Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth contract execution, timely resolution of issues, and high levels of client satisfaction.
6. Oversee the management of variations, claims, and contractual changes in accordance with NEC processes, ensuring appropriate financial recovery where applicable.
7. Provide accurate and timely financial reports, including profit and loss statements, cash flow forecasting, and cost/value reconciliations.
8. Contribute to the development and implementation of commercial strategies that align with business objectives and enhance profitability.
9. Collaborate with other departments such as finance, legal, and operations to ensure comprehensive management of contractual and financial obligations.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Proven experience in commercial management, with a strong background in NEC contract administration.
2. In-depth understanding of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4) and their application in project management.
3. Experience in revenue forecasting and managing project finances.
4. Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data to inform decision-making.
5. Excellent negotiation and communication skills to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
6. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
7. Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on risk management and mitigation.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Finance, or related field.
2. Professional certifications such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) are advantageous.
