Job Description
Purpose
This role will oversee the management of multiple clean water utility frameworks throughout the North East.
Specific Responsibilities
1. Accountable for the successful management of frameworks.
2. Management, supervision, and coaching of Site Managers to ensure effective operations.
3. Overseeing operational and technical aspects of multiple water utility frameworks.
4. Ensuring all projects are delivered within budget and time constraints, with regular reports to Directors, including profit and loss management.
5. Managing KPIs and staff production.
6. Monitoring health, safety, quality, and environmental issues, collaborating with the SHEQ team to ensure safe delivery and quality standards.
7. Managing subcontractors, plant, and materials.
8. Acting as the key liaison with clients and local authorities, conducting regular progress meetings.
9. Providing effective monthly reports to the Framework Director.
10. Building relationships with stakeholders and communicating contractual information as needed.
11. Identifying and implementing opportunities for commercial efficiencies across operations and contracts.
12. Leading contract negotiations and managing contract variations.
13. Resolving contract issues and disputes with suppliers.
14. Ensuring compliance with legislation and company policies, maintaining auditable documents and confidential information.
15. Completing contract close-out, reviewing for extension or renewal, and supporting procurement for re-procurement.
Qualifications
1. Experience as a Water Contracts Manager, capable of managing site works from SHEQ and commercial perspectives.
2. At least 5 years of management experience in Water Utility Projects, preferably with a main contractor.
3. Strong knowledge of utility projects and related legislation.
4. Professional qualifications such as NRSWA Supervisor, SMSTS, NEBOSH, or IOSH.
5. Proven successful project delivery.
6. Excellent commercial awareness and programming skills.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
8. Full UK driving license.
