A large and busy property services team within a local authority has a need for interim support. As a Senior Asset and Estate Surveyor, you will act as the property business partner for Children and Family Services, ensuring compliance with the Corporate Landlord model approach to managing its land and buildings portfolio.
The Corporate Landlord's responsibilities include the acquisition, development, and disposal of land and buildings. It oversees asset planning, review, feasibility, and options appraisal, considering the needs of all service areas and making decisions based on overall corporate priorities. In this role, you will work closely with the Children and Family Services department, with strategic responsibilities such as:
1. Design and Project Management
2. Statutory Compliance of Buildings
3. Delivery of Capital Projects
4. Energy Management
5. Carbon Reduction within the Property Portfolio
6. Management and Commissioning of Repairs and Maintenance
7. Estates and Valuation Services
8. Strategic Asset Management Planning
9. Planning and Maximising the Safe Occupation of Buildings in line with the Office Accommodation Policy
10. Management of the Council's Investment Property
Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent in Land / Property Management (or similar)
* Full Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors - MRICS
Experience
* Significant experience working within the corporate landlord model as a general practice surveyor in a local authority property services department
* Experience in the disposal of a wide range of land and property, both leasehold and freehold
* Experience in Landlord and Tenant matters, including law, principles, negotiation, valuation
* Strong track record of relevant Local Government experience and liaising with services such as social services, education, etc.
* Experience in valuing various types of properties
* Good knowledge of construction matters
