About the Role
As a Highway Design Specialist, you will be responsible for managing projects from feasibility to on-site delivery, including the Traffic Regulation process. This will involve undertaking feasibility and design work on a wide range of highways and civil engineering schemes, applying technical expertise and engineering judgement to produce solutions that meet legal and management objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake feasibility and design work on a wide range of highways and civil engineering schemes.
* Analyse engineering problems and produce solutions to meet legal and management objectives.
* Identify, prepare, design, plan, programme and order works and services.
* Assist in the management and monitoring of works programmes or services to ensure that schemes are delivered on time and within budget.
* Liaise directly with Elected Members, Parish Councils, public and stakeholders as required.
Requirements
* Educated to HNC/HND or Degree level in Civil Engineering is desirable.
* Membership of a relevant professional institution at Eng Tech level or actively working towards IEng level is desirable.
* Experience with Highway/Traffic Legislation, relevant design procedures and standards and good practice is essential.
* Proficient in the use of AutoCAD 2D is essential.
* Ability to use MS packages – Word, Excel and Outlook is essential.
