This is an exciting opportunity to join a National Law Firm’s office in Bristol or Southampton within the risk and compliance team. They are seeking a commercial lawyer to join the team and manage the impact of technological change in the firm. Their responsibilities will encompass data strategy, governance, risk assessment, tender responses, breach/incident management, and supplier management. They will also provide compliance advice for client tenders, contracts, and business terms. And advise on SRA Code of Conduct and commercial risk management.
Job Responsibilities:
* Shaping and Delivering Data Strategy: Focus on data governance, risk assessment, tender responses, and breach/incident management.
* Working closely with senior members of the firm and the Digital Data & Technology team on information and cyber security matters.
* Staying Informed on Data Protection: Keep up with developments in data protection and their impact on legal services technologies.
* Assisting the DPO: Support the Data Protection Officer with procurement and supply chain resilience projects, focusing on contracts and data.
* Supplier Risk Management: Ensure suppliers meet the firm’s and client’s requirements regarding commercial risk, business continuity, cyber and information security, modern slavery, and ESG goals.
* Contract and Compliance Advice: Provide advice on client tenders, data protection, FOI, intellectual property, indemnities, retainer letters, terms of business, and supply contracts.
* Advising on SRA Code of Conduct: Provide guidance on compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct and manage data and commercial risk issues.
* Working within a Supportive Team: Collaborate with a close-knit team, focusing on delivering the firm’s data strategy and procurement objectives while building risk and compliance expertise.
