Main duties of the job
Main duties of the role will include:
* Providing comprehensive, effective and high quality administrative support to the relevant Safeguarding Lead at each practice
* Providing and coordinating administrative and secretarial services where required; including, for example, the preparation of agendas and minutes, taking appropriate follow-up action as required.
* Overseeing an electronic filing system for safeguarding issues
* Preparing confidential letters/documents/reports
* Constantly reviewing working practices and suggesting any areas of improvements
About us
Theaward-winning Selby Town PCN consistsof four practices with a combined population of approximately 50,000 patients,covering the large geographical area surrounding Selby and Escrick.
This is a post supporting patients & staff across the four practicesin the PCN: BeechTree Surgery, Escrick Surgery, Posterngate Surgery and Scott Road MedicalCentre.
The PCN has a Clinical Director, two Clinical Lead GP's and is managed bythe PCN Operations Manager & HR Lead.
We work in increasingly collaborative partnershipsacross a number of workstreams, which include important priority areas ofmental health, frailty, urgent care and health inequity. Our team consists of adiverse multi-professional workforce which includes pharmacists, MSKpractitioners, physician associates, mental health workers, care coordinators,social prescribing link workers, a frailty therapy team, an urgent carecoordinator, a business intelligence analyst/digital lead, a transformationallead and an urgent care team of health care professionals.
Job responsibilities
KEYRESPONSIBILTIES
Sorting and prioritising all incoming mailand e-mail that relates to safeguarding or potential safeguarding issues.
Acting as the main safeguarding link for allpractices with regards phone calls/messages
Acting as a point of contact for teams,dealing and responding effectively with complex queries from stakeholders andpassing on relevant information to appropriate team members sensitively and autonomously.
Deal with any telephone calls for practicesfrom third parties regarding safeguarding issues.
Ensuring practice safeguarding registers areaccurate & up to date.
Completing safeguarding reports received fromthird parties.
Attending safeguarding meetings with relevantagencies, e.g., social services
Ensuring codes are accurately entered/amendedonto medical records.
Running and collating reports which mayinclude reports to the PCN Board
Ensuring practices have relevant & up todate policies in place.
Maintaining effective electronic filingsystems, to ensure that information is kept securely and is accessible to othermembers of the team.

Acting as an expert Safeguarding resource forpractices
