Recruitment Profile
We are looking for a motivated person to join our team, providing a high level of service across the Scottish Borders in our road maintenance team working out of our Duns depot. The successful candidate will work within a team to ensure provision of an efficient and effective service undertaking a role as a roads operative with the ability to operate, competently to complete work to defined tolerances and standards generally working in hazardous conditions, beside live traffic, or on construction sites. You will also be expected to engage with members of the public in a courteous and respectful manner dealing with and or reporting issues as required. Ensure that works are performed in a safe and responsible manner in compliance within the relevant risk assessments, method statements. The works will involve carrying out routine maintenance works on our road network along with planned works, emergency works and be required to be on standby rotas for summer and winter maintenance operations.
Essential
A basic education (Numeracy and literacy) Certified relevant machinery and plant use qualification/s (i.e. Lantra certificates, NPTC, SVQ II, CSCS, CPCS or NPORS cards)
A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post.
