A little about myself:
I am a young girl on the ASD pathway. I don’t go to school, but I have a home tutor. I love horses and my dog.
I am very shy, and socially anxious and don’t like crowds, or activities with a crowd of young people. I do like reading and arts and crafts and gaming.
Driver required to take me out.
I will need a PA who can ride a horse or who is comfortable around horses to take me to my horse-riding activities and do them with me. You will need to like dogs also as we may take my dog for a walk on one of the days you spend time with me.
Female preferred.
Hours of work:
6 hours per week
Rate of pay.
£12.75 per hour after tax and NI.
£0.39p per mile.
Essential:
You must be comfortable around horses, be patient and kind, and understand my needs.
Desirable I’d prefer if:
You had experience of children with ASD,as this helps you to understand my behaviours.
I’d like support with:
Building emotional resilience in a setting separate to my family.
I will need my PA to:
Respect and understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
Be confident, mature and have patience.
Be dependable and arrive on time.
Be friendly with an easy-going manner.
Be adaptable and flexible.
Be supportive but not take over.
Have business insurance on your car to take clients out.
Concerning the position
A trial period will be necessary in the first instance in the form of a six-month probationary period. Salary will be paid monthly (Annual leave is calculated on a pro rata basis). A DBS MUST be processed prior to any commencement of employment. Costs of DBS will be met by Swansea council where applicant is eligible.
