Database Administrator (CH12138R) - Bath, BA2 7AYAbout the role:The Senior Engineer role sits within the Delivery & Operations pilar within DDaT. As a Senior Engineer, you will be working in 2nd and 3rd line support, resolving problems, documenting root causes, and improving service levels, maintaining current systems, upgrades, and changes.You will be a subject matter expert and trusted partner working professionally and collaboratively with colleagues, business stakeholders, analysts, and project managers, to develop, configure, support, and maintain your field and help to develop IT infrastructure systems and services. You will help manage the transition of new elements into operational service, perform capacity planning and performance management, day-to-day operations, and delivery of new services and infrastructure systems and solutions, in-line with the agreed project portfolio, to ensure they are meeting the current and future requirements of the University.Please note the job title Database Administrator is for advertising purposes only. Your job title if successful in this position will be Senior Engineer (Hosting-DBA).Your role will focus on all thing's database, from installation and troubleshooting to optimising server availability and maintaining back-up procedures.Additional areas include:Active Directory infrastructureEnterprise Backup and StorageServer infrastructure, provision and managementCloud InfrastructureThis role is offered on a full time (36.5 hours per week) permanent basis.
