Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Practitioner to join the Ellon Children and Families Team to provide a professional social work service to children, families, individuals, and groups within current legislation, policies, and procedures of Aberdeenshire Council through partnership working. The Ellon Children Families Team is a small but supportive and forward-thinking team that focuses on achieving positive outcomes for our children.
The individual will be motivated, enthusiastic, relationship-focused, and have a strong knowledge base with a postgraduate degree in child welfare and protection, mental health, or the equivalent. They will enhance the work of the Children and Families Team by working with complex cases, supporting team members in case management through mentoring, consultation, and in some instances direct supervision, promoting continuous team and service development, and supporting the Team Manager in terms of deputising and managing day-to-day operational business when required.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
