Simmons Adaptive is the flexible resourcing team for leading international law firm, Simmons & Simmons.
Main purpose of the role:
Simmons Adaptive is currently searching for an experienced technology and data lawyer, immediately available for an assignment lasting 6 months. This is an exciting opportunity to work with one of the firm’s leading clients in the financial services sector.
This role will involve reviewing, drafting and negotiating a broad range of technology, market data, professional services and general services agreements. Types of agreements include technology outsourcing, hardware and software purchases, SaaS and other cloud transactions, maintenance and support arrangements and design and construction agreements.
You will be working closely with the compliance, risk and business partners, identifying legal and regulatory changes across technology, data and outsourcing matters, and advising on risk and changes to be made to contract templates, policies, frameworks and programs.
This role will also cover advising on brand infringement matters and handling general IP queries from the different business units.
Person specification:
* You are a qualified lawyer with training from a top tier practice.
* You have experience working in house in the financial services sector.
* You have previous technology, data protection and IP experience, with the confidence to take the lead on negotiations and advise the business on risk.
* This role would suit candidates with 5 years + PQE however, we encourage candidates of all levels to apply.
* You have excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate complex analysis in a clear and concise manner.
* You can work autonomously but can also collaborate effectively as part of the wider team.
* You are a self-motivated team player, with a desire to develop strong relationships and excellent time management skills.
* You will be required to hold the relevant right to work for the UK, visa sponsorship is not available via Adaptive.
