About the Role
Base Location: Havant, Portsmouth
Salary: £52,285 - £60,730 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The Operational Technology Dev Ops team are embedded within the Networks business. The remit of the team is to design, implement and support the business-critical Operational Technology systems necessary to monitor and control the plant and safety systems used in the Distribution Network Management Centres (NMC).
As a User Acceptance Testing Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Project Engineering & Vulnerability Management: Test and implement approved patches for real-time Operational Technology Applications used in monitoring and managing Distribution power networks, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
- Technical Evaluation & Commissioning: Handle the technical evaluation, testing, and commissioning of patches on software, hardware, and security for Operational Applications, ensuring they meet user requirements.
- Project Management Skills: Work within project management environments, demonstrating an understanding of project engineering and coordination to manage patch implementations and support tasks.
- Operational Applications Support: Provide hardware and software support for Operational Technology Applications (e.g., PowerOn, PI Data Historian, ADMS), including hands-on technical assistance and management of third-party support services.
- Customer & Supplier Communication: Leverage strong communication skills to understand customer and supplier issues, ensuring high-quality service delivery that meets or exceeds expectations.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Operating Systems & Database Expertise: Strong experience with Windows Desktop, Windows Server, Linux, and database applications such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL.
- Data Networking & Cybersecurity: Understanding of data networking technologies and operational technology cybersecurity requirements to ensure safe and secure project solutions.
- Testing & CI/CD Experience: Proven experience in manual and automated testing, including test script writing, execution, and working within CI/CD pipelines. Relevant Test Management certifications (e.g., ISTQB Foundation) are ideal.
- Operational Applications Design & Support: Expertise in the design, configuration, installation, and commissioning of Operational Applications, including DMS, SCADA, Data Historians, and communications systems.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Risk Management: Strong communication skills for engaging with stakeholders, alongside experience in FAT/SAT techniques, risk assessment, and managing power systems infrastructure.
