JOB TITLE: MECHANICAL FITTER REPORT TO: ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR HOURS OF WORK: 39 HOURS PER WEEK SALARY SCALE: £35,995 HOURS OF WORK: 39 hours per week Mon-Thurs 8.00 am 4.30pm,Fri 8.00 am 3.30 pm Job Purpose: To provide an efficient and effective level of maintenance, service and repair to all mechanical and electrical plant and equipment within the airport site as necessary, thereby meeting Health & Safety Regulations and expectations of all airport users, in line with the company engineering operational requirements. Main Tasks & Responsibilities: 1. To carry out maintenance checks on all plant and equipment to the required standard on a weekly basis, ensuring the serviceability of same and reporting and suggesting remedial repairs to supervisory staff. 2. To carry out maintenance, service and repair of plant and equipment to the required health and safety and company standards and requirements, which include: Heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment Diesel engines Boiler plant Conveyor systems Oil storage areas inclusive of pumping equipment Doors and barriers in relation to security Airbridges and noseloaders 3. To assist and work in partnership with the engineering department to maximise the efficiency of repairs 4. To log and keep fuel stocks to required levels 5. To assist with sourcing parts in conjunction with supervisory staff and the Purchasing department 6. To assist in liaising with contractors, ensuring they adhere to company procedures and to provide an escort for them, when required 7.To complete all relevant documentation in line with job requirements and departmental policy 8. To ensure that all Statutory and Company regulations regarding Health & Safety, Fire and Security Regulations are followed to protect airport users, staff members and the business interests of the Company 9. Assist in the event of an emergency situation as directed by the Operations Duty Management Team and as detailed in the Emergency Orders; 10.
