An exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer - Improvement Lead role has arisen within the New Build & Components Business (NB&C), in Nuclear (Submarines).

The aim of the role is to lead Manufacturing Engineering Strategic Improvements and application of Built in Quality across a wide range of Manufacturing Processes. The successful candidate will be required to work with a range of SMEs to help foster a Continuous Improvement, Zero Defect culture. The submarines business is going through a period of significant change, ramping up to deliver 3 times current production volume. This is a pivotal role in ensuring NB&C are match fit to meet that challenge ensuring robustly engineered products and manufacturing processes.

What you will be doing:
1. Identify and lead ME major improvement projects to drive SQCDP.
2. Lead the application of Built in Quality Toolset across NB&C.
3. Define, & Manage Execution of plan for application of Built-in-Quality toolset (PFD, CM, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA) to existing products.
4. Act as Local Subject Matter Expert for Built in Quality.
5. Define standard toolsets & approach, reflecting current industry best practice.
6. Provide Coaching & Support to wider PCO ME Team.
7. Drive technical improvements in support of our Nuclear culture.

4. Strong communication skills with the ability to lead and influence at all levels of the organisation.
5. Strong understanding of ME Processes and Practices.
6. Significant experience in the application of the Built in Quality toolset.
7. Experience in leading teams to deliver significant technical projects.
8. Good IT proficiency and awareness of relevant Manufacturing Systems.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance.
