JOB TITLE: Quality Controller
1. MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
The Quality Controller is responsible for inspecting and assessing produce at various stages of production, from arrival through to despatch, ensuring that all products meet the required quality standards and food safety regulations.
2. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Hygiene Standards: Maintain excellent standards of personal and environmental hygiene at all times, in line with company policies and industry regulations.
* Raw Material Assessment: Assess incoming raw materials, produce detailed reports, and provide guidance to management teams (Technical, Commercial, Packhouse) regarding the ongoing suitability and quality of materials.
* Finished Product Inspection: Carry out thorough inspections of finished products to ensure they meet the specified customer requirements and relevant industry standards (UK/EU).
* Shelf Life Monitoring: Select and monitor shelf life samples to ensure product quality and safety are maintained throughout the storage period.
* Hygiene Monitoring: Continuously monitor and report on hygiene standards and practices in all areas of production, identifying any areas of improvement.
* Health and Safety: Take responsibility for your own health and safety, and assist in promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
* Food Safety Culture: Understand the importance of food safety and actively contribute to a positive food safety culture within the business.
* Fault Reporting: Report any machine faults, equipment defects, or other issues affecting production to the Site Manager, Quality Manager, or Technical Managers promptly to ensure minimal disruption to production.
3. RELATIONSHIPS
* Internal Relationships: Directly liaise with Site Manager, Technical Managers and Production & QA teams to ensure smooth communication and quality control processes are followed at all stages of production.
* External Relationships: Occasionally liaise with suppliers, customers, and third-party inspection agencies as required to maintain product quality standards.
4. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
* Location: Sidcup
* Hourly Rate: £13.44 per hour
* Start Date: Immediate start available.
* Contract: Ongoing work with potential for long-term employment based on performance.
* Shifts: The business is open 7 days a week so 5/7 working at a minimum, this will include and element of weekend work.
* PPE: Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided on-site
