This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Parks and Open Spaces Officer to join our Parks and Countryside team. The Role: To implement the council’s policies and standards for the efficient and effective management of Parks, Cemeteries, Allotments and Highway verges and the day-to-day management and maintenance of these services including supervision and monitoring of the Grounds Maintenance Contract. Your role will involve: To ensure Parks, Cemeteries, open spaces, highways verges and Allotments are maintained to a high standard and provide a safe environment for all users and to ensure the Regulations and by-laws of the Cemeteries and parks are adhered to. To manage Parks, Cemeteries, open spaces, highways verges and allotments to encourage use for physical recreation and leisure and to ensure they are a safe and pleasant environment for all users. To develop joint working and implement partnership initiatives with User groups/clubs, friends of groups and other users and to initiate review of service provision to anticipate and meet service demands, to improve the overall services of the section. To manage budget expenditure and to identify and initiate Special Repairs, Improvements and Contract amendments. To monitor the Grounds Maintenance contract and to issue variation, correction and default notices.
