Dartmouth are partnering with a leading Private Equity firm specializing in strategic investments across a variety of sectors, focusing on delivering exceptional returns to investors. The ideal candidate will have a passion for finance, a strong foundation in accounting, and experience either in the industry or accountancy practice. As part of their Fund Finance team, you will support the financial operations and reporting for their private equity funds, working closely with senior finance professionals and gaining exposure to a wide range of private equity activities.
They are expanding their team and are looking for an ambitious and motivated candidate to join their Fund finance team and gain invaluable experience in the private equity sector.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for private equity funds, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (UK GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
2. Support in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders, including investors and auditors.
3. Assist in the accounting for acquisitions, disposals, and other corporate transactions, ensuring accuracy in financial statements and transaction documentation.
4. Work closely with deal teams to ensure the correct financial treatment of investments, valuations, and performance tracking.
5. Support the team in preparing investor reports, capital calls, and distribution calculations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in communication with investors.
6. Participate in the preparation of financial models, forecasts, and performance reports to track fund performance, returns, and investment performance.
7. Assist in analysing fund data to ensure operational efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
* A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
* Previous experience in an accounting practice or finance function (audit, accounting, or finance roles in industry) is highly desirable, with a strong foundation in accounting principles.
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
* A basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (e.g., UK GAAP, IFRS) is required.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with internal teams and external stakeholders.
* A proactive, self-motivated approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong interest in pursuing a career in private equity, with a genuine desire to learn and grow within the industry.
