Job summary
We are looking for versatile, enthusiastic individual to join our Consultant Geriatrician team based at Lymington Hospital.
This is an exciting time in for the Trust as we are on a journey to bring together all NHS community and mental health services provided in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, including services provided by Solent NHS Trust, Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, that delivers Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services CAMHS in Hampshire, in what we call project Fusion.
Main duties of the job
This is an ideal post for a geriatrician who enjoys being hands on and working closely with colleagues in primary, secondary and intermediate care. There are opportunities to get involved in admission prevention, virtual wards, proactive community services for older people living with frailty, advance care planning and end of life care.
The environment within the hospital is ideal for older patients who need high quality medical and nursing care but not intensive medical intervention or referral to more specialist services. A particular strength is end of life care.

Qualifications
Essential
1. MBBS or equivalent
2. MRCP or equivalent
3. Full registration with the General Medical Council GMC with licence to practice
4. Entry on Specialist Register in Geriatric medicine
5. Holder of Certificate of Completion of Training CCT in Geriatric medicine or within 12 months of award of CCT by date of interview
Experience
Essential
6. Ability to provide expert clinical opinion across a wide range of problems within General Internal Medicine and Geriatric medicine
7. Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the care of patients
