It is a great time to join Forgemasters, as the business goes through an ongoing period of growth and modernisation after being acquired by the UK Ministry of Defence In 2021. The acquisition has secured our role as a critical supplier to the next generation of UK defence programmes. As part of this programme of work our plant and equipment will be modernised over the next 10 years, creating new opportunities for the business and our colleagues.
Based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, we are looking for a Ancillary / Crane Driver. This role will involve lifting, moving, and turning castings, plus general ancillary duties.
Role Responsibilities
* Overhead and pendant crane driving to contribute to production work.
* FLT driving.
* Slinging.
* Loading and unloading furnaces.
* Setting up castings.
* Maintaining a good standard of housekeeping.
* Complete any required documentation.
About You
The following relevant skills, knowledge and experience are required.
* Overhead and pendant crane driving experience is a distinct advantage, as is slinging experience.
* Effective working as part of a team.
* understanding of health & safety in the workplace.
* Previous experience working in a heavy manufacturing environment is an advantage.
Days/Hours of Work
Average of 37 hours per week: Mornings 06:00 - 13:00 ; Afternoons 13:00 - 20:00; Nights 19:45 - 06:00
