Read on Position: Workshop Technician (Repair Centre) Location: Lisburn Job Type: Full time, Permanent - Monday to Friday, 39.5 hours per week, 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8:30am to 4:30pm on Friday Salary: £25,000 to £27,000, Banding Grades 1 - 3 depending on previous experience Benefits: 28 days annual leave increasing with length of service, plus 4 public holidays, attractive pension, medical cash-back system, and as much coffee as you can drink Purpose of Role: To ensure the efficient refurbishment of Matthew Algie Equipment. Making sure the quality of all aspects of work carried out is to the highest standard possible, whilst constantly striving towards departmental aims, paying particular attention to: Quality, performance and reducing part usage where possible. If you already have previous repair centre experience, you may be able to join at a higher entry grade based on your skills. Key Responsibilities: Machine Refurbishment to carry out refurbishment of machines to the highest standards: • Refurbishment of machines to the current procedures on all grade 1 and 2 equipment with additional BTC and PSSR inspections carried out in compliance with Coffee Safe regulations • To pass quality checks carried out by RC Supervisors • Processes to be monitored and improved if required • Performance to agreed targets should be aimed for and will lead to grade promotions The Repair Technician should strive to maximise efficiency and minimise wastage: • All work carried out is to be recorded accurately • All machines to be completed to the required standard • Paperwork to be filled out correctly and any shortages to be noted on paperwork The Repair Technician should adhere to all Health and Safety rules and procedures: • All legal and Health and Safety requirements must be met • All accidents are to be reported to a member of Production Management • All potential hazards should be reported as soon as possible Hygiene the Company Hygiene Policy must be adhered to: • To ensure all production staff perform job function to highest standard following all published procedures, Health and Safety, Legal, Quality and Environmental Management regulations • All parts of the factory should be kept in a tidy, organised fashion, in constant readiness for ‘third party audits’ The Repair Centre Technician should possess a strong level of teamwork: • Be fully aware of how their department is performing • All members of staff should be treated, and treat others, with respect at all times • Get involved in broader department activities if and when required • Constantly seek areas for improvement • Be fully engaged at their regular appraisal when training needs and general performance will be discussed Communication must be effective to ensure the success of the department: • All staff are encouraged to participate actively in team briefs • Departmental performance is a vital objective and ideas to improve should be communicated to your line manager Administration is a vital part of the Repair Centre Technician role and must be carried out in a professional manner to ensure the success of the department: • Administration activities should be carried out in a correct and professional manner at all times. • The paperwork should be carried out to ensure an audit trail is possible by external auditors Experience To be considered for this opportunity it is essential that you have previous experience in a similar role such as in a repair centre or manufacturing environment, and experienced in use of hand tools Skills / Knowledge You will have a qualification or certificate in NC Electrical & Engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent and a Coffee Safe PSSR accreditation.
