To ensure the provision of Facilities services to a high standard and be managerially responsible for the provision of Facilities services across the West area of the Trust, along with those covered by service level agreements (SLAs).
Main duties of the job
1. To be a member of the Facilities Management Team, participating in the overall management of the team's activities with consideration to the team's vision and the corporate objectives of the Trust.
2. To provide support in relation to Facilities services to the Deputy Head of Facilities, directorate colleagues, clinical colleagues and other external organisations, as appropriate.
3. To manage one or more of the following subject areas, in any given geographical area: grounds maintenance, car parking, security, waste management, telecommunications, domestic services, laundry and linen, pest control, window cleaning, switchboard staff, post room services, commercial retail activity, procurement of facilities products and services, courier services.
4. To ensure that the Trust complies with NHS and other statutory guidance relating to Facilities services.
5. To represent the Trust in agreed meetings and act with delegated authority on behalf of the Deputy Head of Facilities.
6. To manage and control delegated budgets within agreed parameters taking a proactive approach to financial issues.
7. To manage the Facilities operational teams so that members contribute to the provision of high quality patient care.
8. To liaise with other Facilities colleagues regarding matters relating to externally provided facilities services.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
* A degree or significant professional experience in a facilities management role.
* Professional facilities management training across an appropriate range of general management and technical subjects, including evidence of continuous professional development.
Knowledge/Experience
Essential
* Specialist knowledge of maintenance and/or facilities management and acquired through postqualification courses & experience.
* Worked at management level in a Facilities service, preferably multi-site operations.
* Significant Facilities staff management experience, covering a range of disciplines.
* Knowledge and experience of market testing, tendering procedures, contract negotiation and management.
